This is an excellent method for uploading photos larger than 1024. When using 'design to prompt', it's particularly useful in the field. If you take a picture and want to upload it, this feature is beneficial. However, currently, you cannot upload a photo taken on your phone due to its size.

Both members at the top are correct in the need for the Resize/Crop image after upload can be included. We need to be able to cut background images we do not want or need. Photos larger than 1024 are currently a problem, this feature we can use as a measurement to determine the size of the image we want to upload. Important, it will give us an idea and perspective of image size. This way we can make sure that the image is resized to the requested, needed specs for uploading it to Artistly. This is more than a play around, but a beneficially needed feature we can not do without.
